What Is The Driving Force?

What Is The Driving Force?

At 50, he was unmarried.

Not that he lacked the company of ladies but he said that he was yet to find someone who would love him just for him and not because he was earning good money.

So he lived a life of "I don't care" - a carefree life

However, he had a good number of friends who were always at his beck and call because he loved having a good time, hanging out with friends and having fun.

One of those days, he had gone out with his friends, they had a frolicking time and everyone went home after the hang out.

In the middle of the night, he became really sick - vomiting and stooling incessantly. He became very alarmed and called his friends to come and accompany him to the Hospital.

they did come alright and took him to the Hospital

At the Hospital, the Doctor made a tentative diagnosis of food poisoning and admitted him, He also ordered some laboratory tests for him including Malaria Parasite, Typhoid and HIV screening.

The following day, with the vomiting and stooling adequately controlled, he became lively again, so when the laboratory test results came, they revealed that he had malaria and typhoid. He requested to be discharged since he was feeling better now. The Doctor advised him to wait one more day so that the HIV result can also be collected and then commenced him on anti malarial and anti typhoid treatment.

2 days later he was his old self again and was even throwing banters with the Doctor, that he was keeping him in the Hospital for more money, however in the evening of the 3rd day, the HIV result came and it read positive.

The Doctor was alarmed at the result because the man had not shown any signs of HIV positivity. He only requested that as a routine check. He had no other option but to let the man know though he informed him that he was sending another specimen out for a second opinion.

This necessitated that the man spent another 2 days in the Hospital

Unfortunately, the second sample sent out for second opinion came back positive.

When  the Doctor broke the news to him, he was devastated and broken. And he could not be consoled.

He wondered where he would have contacted the virus, he had always made use of protection when having sex, he had never received blood transfusion, neither has he ever been cut in any way.

He remembered that he was yet to marry and have a family of his own and he was afraid that if he died now, all the things he had accumulated would be enjoyed by people who never helped him in any way.

It was then that he thought of getting married immediately but on second thoughts he wondered which girl would marry him now that he is HIV positive

While all these thoughts were fleeting through his mind, he remembered that his mother had wanted to see her grand children before she died but he never was able to get married.

All these thoughts weighed him down and he was unable to eat food or even sleep.

By the following day when the Doctor wanted to discharge him, he refused to be discharged and said he wanted to stay in the Hospital until he was feeling better.

Despite assurances from the Doctor to him that being HIV positive is not a death sentence, he simply said he was afraid to stay alone in his house but his friends offered to alternate time with him in the house.

Eventually he was discharged and given a week follow up appointment.

Within one week, he had lost so much weight that he needed support to walk and thus by the time he came to see the Doctor, he was literally hanging onto life

He told the Doctor that he was going to die because that is the only thought that comes to his head every now and again.

The Doctor had to refer him for psychological assessment and help.

3 weeks later, the Laboratory Scientist approached the Doctor and told him that the result he had attributed to the man was  not actually his, he stated that there was a mix up from the attendants who labeled the samples  and that after running the HIV test on the man's blood sample, it came out negative and that he had also sent it to a sister lab to run the test and it also came out negative.

The same day, the man was rushed to the Hospital in a state of confusion, he was actually wheeled into the emergency because he could not stand on his own.

After examining him and not really finding anything specifically wrong with him, the Doctor admitted him and put him on infusion.

Later in the evening of the same day, when the man had been adequately hydrated and stabilized, the Doctor took him and one of this friends to his Office and there he started by apologizing to him about the grievous harm they have caused him and then went on to inform him that they made a grievous mistake concerning his HIV result and that he was actually negative.

As the Doctor announced that he was HIV negative, the man's eyes lit up and he cocked his head to one side and asked the Doctor to repeat what he just said which the Doctor obliged him; three times he asked the Doctor to repeat what he said and three times the Doctor obliged him.

And just like magic, the man jumped out of the seat in the Doctor's Consulting Room and started dancing to his own religions songs that he was singing. His fiend joined him to thank God for His mercies.

So the man who was almost at the brink of death came back to life again and couldn't wait to go back to his house to celebrate with his good friends.

He said he was going to sue the Hospital, the Laboratory Scientist and all those who gave him a false result that nearly sent him to the grave.

Now, kindly provide responses to these posers

1.   What made the man suddenly start losing weight when he got the false diagnosis?

2.   What  took him to the state of mental confusion in the course of suffering from a diagnosis he did not have?

3.   Where did the strength to sing and dance come from?

4.   What tools inherent in human beings could be associated with this story?

5.   What would be your best advice to this man at this point in time?

Thank you for reading.

    1. Fear that he would die suddenly

    2. He noticed that there were things he would have lived to achieve in life which he hadn't achieved and now this result came even though it was a wrong diagnosis.

    3. The moment he heard he had been given a wrong diagnosis all along, he became joyful, and immediately, a surge of adrenaline strengthened him to sing.

    4. The mind and the body

    5. I understand he had every reason to be sad but I feel he should forgive and move in with his life.

    1. Mind - body relationship

  2. 1. Fear and loss of hope made the man to suddenly start losing weight when he got the false diagnosis.

2.Too much thinking and still fear that he may die without marrying took him to the state of mental confusion in the course of suffering from a diagnosis he did not have.

3.The Strength to sing and dance came from his mind. The unexpected good news renewed his mind and brought Joy to him once more.

4.Tools inherent in human beings that could be associated with this story are *The Mind factor, *The mindset reset * & *The power to overcome any circumstances.

5.My best advice to this man at this point will be first of all to THANK GOD for the new development, make efforts to forgive the doctor and all the people that caused him pains and move on with his life and as a matter of urgency, marry and start raising his own family so that he could fulfill an old woman's wish !

    Good morning !

  3. 1). The fear of death.

2). He was confused because he trusted himself that, he wasn't supposed to contract the disease since he has deployed all protective measures against the ailment.

3). The strength to jump up came from the mindset. Yes, the doctor's diagnosis was wrong but the rate of deterioration was was too bad, that's why the doctor opted for a phycologist and a second diagnosis. On announcement of the second result, it resuscitated the deplorable state of the man's mind, thus, activated the anions and cations in his system to start functioning immediately. It was really a spontaneous reaction.

4). The mindset and the will power. The mind is a big volume that takes up a lot when it comes. The campaign to build it towards positivism is always the hallmark of the exploitation we are into.

    5). My advise is;
i). Set up a thanksgiving to the Almighty God who is the author of life, who is merciful enough to spare him from the situation.
ii). Build the mind to forgive all parties involved in propagating the fake result.
iii). Since he is well to do, he can initiate a campaign for sanity and good ethical standards in the laboratory diagnosis and practices.
iv). Initiate processes towards raising a family for his lineage sustainability immediately.
v). Finally, be more reserved and calm when issues of this nature rears its ugly head and approach it with sobriety.

    1. His mindset embraced fear that it was only a matter of time, he was going to die.

    2. His mindset was enveloped with the thoughts of going to die without a wife and children to inherit all the wealth he has laboured to build on one hand and the thought of dieing and leaving behind his wealth for people who didn't suffer with him to build the wealth was slowly killing him

    3. The strength to sing and dance came from the mindset which suddenly received a new information that automatically changed his thoughts and thinking pattern

    4. The mindset and the knowledge one has given any situation (information)

    5. (i) Develop a forgiving spirit and forgive all the parties involved in giving him such a wrong information
(ii) Learn from this error to always confirm negative medical diagnosis results at least in three other laboratories. Then sit down, think and plan the best possible options available to take.
(iii) Get married and raid children of his own as soon as possible and move on with his life.

4.The mind and body. The power to overcome any circumstances. The knowledge one has given a situation.

  7. 1. Well, naturally, when one gets a bad news, there is normal tendency that the will power will be drastically withdrawn. Its just the mindset and thoughts that come with it. The man was worried and he believed that there was no need to be alive again. He was not just happy with himself again.

    2. He was worried and confused knowing well that he has been playing it safe all this while. He was also surprised with the result of the laboratory test carried out on him.

    3. I believe it is just the positive mindset and energy that comes naturally to people when they are happy. The strength came from within.

    4. When people have different options, they tend to take it for granted, but when there is little or no option, they tend to sit up and do the needful. We ought to procrastinate all the time when ww think we have all the time in the whole world, allowing things to get so bad until when we have little or nothing option, then we will want to do the needful immediately.

    5. There is no need to postpone that which is necessary. I guess he has learnt his lesson and do what is expected of him.

  8. 1. Shock and regrets about his life which suddenly has come to an end.

    2. Every effort he has made in life matter no more . He will loose everything he worked for and the worst thing is people who never helped him will benefit from his wealth. Regrets

    3. He had another opportunity to live again after all hope was lost.

    4. Reality

    5. To have a deep reflect about his life and change his life style. He should bless the Doctor because he is a blessing in disguise.

  9. 1. The positive HIV result given to the man put him in a depressive state of mind which caused him to loose appetite and hence the weight loss.
    2. He was driven into mental confusion by the fact that he had done all he thought possible to prevent himself from contracting the virus, and yet a diagnosis was given him, albeit false. Furthermore, his thoughts of getting married and fulfilling his mother's wishes to see her grandchildren became compounded by the fact that it would be an uphill task to find a wife with his HIV status.
    3. The strength to sing and dance came from his mind.
    4. The inherent tool in human beings associated with this story is the power of the human mind.
    5. I would advise him to;
    • Do a life audit.
    • Set goals according to the outcome of the audit.
    • Set his mind on the achievement of these set goals.
    • Take massive action.

  10. 1. Anxiety.

    2. Regret of how he has lived his life and lost opportunities.

    3. Hope...on hearing that the result was false, he realized he has been given a second chance.

4.The relationship between the mind(which controls the body) and the body.

    5. Now he has been given a second chance he should try not to get carried away by the euphoria of the sweet news but to start immediately to start taking steps to achieve those things which regret of it almost killed him.

Freedom From Fear - Choices Before The New Generation

Freedom From Fear - Choices Before The New Generation By Babatunde Raji Fashola      We are now in the realm and reality of constant expectations of miracles and divine intervention. Superstitions have taken over reason and logic. When we pass examinations, win football matches, conduct successful elections, or achieve any feat, we seem all too frightened and unsure of ourselves to take credit for even the most modest of successes attributable to our efforts. Instead the first thing you hear is God did it. Regrettably, we have surrendered our capacities and abilities in a frightful way to FEAR, that we have become victims of some confidence tricksters who deceive, dis-entitle and prey on our fears and frailties in ‘God's’ name. Every man and woman of substance now has a Mullah, Pastor, Imam, Alfa, Spiritualist or even a witch doctor or Dibia who is responsible for telling them what to do, when to do it, in a way that diminishes his abilities and surrenders

Know This And Have Some Peace

Know This And Have Some Peace...   I have visited my 120 years old grandmother and given   her some money when I was leaving and she told me she doesn't need money again. No one even recognized him again, not even passengers from his State where he was governor, and as I walked up to him and greeted him, then asked if he wanted any assistance, he stretched forth his trembling hands to hold me and simply said, "Thank you for even recognizing me again. I just want your attention briefly my son. Sit down let me ask you something. How is Governor Ayade doing Agba?" I also have a retired Maj

Mando And His World

Mando And His World   As a child, Mando believed that he would make a difference in his world. Something in him used to tell him that he did not belong to the world he was presently in. Mando's world was that of lack and deprivation. His family was poor, utterly poor and Mando was the 8th of 10 Children that his Parents had. His Father was a subsistent farmer and his Mother a petty trader. They could barely afford 2 meals in a day. Because of the many mouths to feed, both Parents sometimes went hungry just to ensure that their children had something to eat. Clothing was a different kettle of fish, Mando and his siblings barely had clothes and went bare-bodied most of the time. Sandals and silpas were a luxury, but they got used to moving around bare feet even on thorny surfaces. Being a farmer, Mando's Father would leave the house very early in the morning and come back late in the evening. Sometimes, his wife would cook and then send the food with one of
