How To Strengthen Your Mind's Muscles

The trend towards healthier living through improved diet and added exercise is here to stay.
More and more people appreciate how they feel when they feed their bodies healthy food...
and love the way they look and feel after their workouts.

This is all very admirable, but getting physically fit is only part of the equation to stellar personal health.

We must also address the state of our minds because the brain is also a muscle. When we are trying to create or accomplish something we need to call on our powers of concentration and attention and if we have not been actively using these two powers, when we call on them they will be weak and not trustworthy to get the job done.

The muscles of the brain are strengthened from activity and exercise the same way that the body’s other muscles are…
If they are not used and consistently challenged, the muscles in the brain react the same way the muscles in other parts of your body do...they begin to atrophy and eventually die from misuse.

Truth is, you cannot build strong body muscles by sitting on the couch all day and neither can you build your mind muscles - your strong powers of concentration and attention when you are not challenging them.
Attention mastery begins when we are able to direct our attention away from distractions and keep focused on and working towards what’s important.
In the end, what we put our attention towards and what we ignore directly shapes our reality because we’re working with energy.

Don't go looking for short cuts...building the mind's muscles is the same as building physical muscles. It takes focus, time, dedication and work.

So, the question is, are you strengthening your mind muscles through active use or allowing them to weaken through disuse?

Strengthen Your Mind like you strengthen your body by using it

"Putting off till tomorrow what might be done now!" is what it is all about. Many people fall into the procrastination trap. According to Piers Steel, a researcher and speaker, 95 percent of people procrastinate in some way. While knowing you're not alone can be reassuring, realizing how much it might limit you can be sobering. Is Procrastination Synonymous With Laziness? Procrastination is frequently confused with laziness, although the two are not the same. Procrastination is a deliberate action in which you choose to do something other than the task you know you should be performing. Laziness, on the other hand, connotes apathy, passivity, and a refusal to perform. Procrastination usually entails putting off a less pleasurable but perhaps more crucial duty in favo...

Mando And His World

Mando And His World   As a child, Mando believed that he would make a difference in his world. Something in him used to tell him that he did not belong to the world he was presently in. Mando's world was that of lack and deprivation. His family was poor, utterly poor and Mando was the 8th of 10 Children that his Parents had. His Father was a subsistent farmer and his Mother a petty trader. They could barely afford 2 meals in a day. Because of the many mouths to feed, both Parents sometimes went hungry just to ensure that their children had something to eat. Clothing was a different kettle of fish, Mando and his siblings barely had clothes and went bare-bodied most of the time. Sandals and silpas were a luxury, but they got used to moving around bare feet even on thorny surfaces. Being a farmer, Mando's Father would leave the house very early in the morning and come back late in the evening. Sometimes, his wife would cook and then send the food with one of...

The Reason Why Most People Fail

How To Develop Effortless Self-Discipline When most people talk about self-discipline, they do so with a bored look in the eyes and a monotonous voice. They’ve got a point - Self-discipline is NOT sexy. But while it isn’t the sexiest skill, it sure is powerful. Just look at the Chinese. China has been around since long before the time of Jesus, and long before many other societies began and crumbled and yet... it’s still growing. That’s what prompted Napoleon Bonaparte, the famous French General, to say of China: “Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will shake the world.” The benefits of self-discipline are clear. If you had superhuman self-discipline, you could easily do whatever it is you need to be successful - no question, right? Imagine waking up each day and sticking to your schedule PERFECTLY, even getting more done than you planned, and racing towards your goals in record time? THAT’S what self-discipline gives ...
